Terms of sale
Last updated: 25 October 2026. These terms apply to every purchase of credits on Invisible Watermark.
1. Seller
The developer of Invisible Watermark, a sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) registered in France. See the legal notice. You can reach us through the contact form.
2. What the service does
Invisible Watermark hides an invisible code in a picture you upload, together with a note you write (for example who the copy is for). You download the marked copy. Later, anyone can upload a picture to check whether it carries a mark from this site; only the person who marked it, logged in or holding the receipt code, sees the note. The mark is a way to trace where a copy came from. Heavy edits to a picture can make the copy impossible to identify; in that case the check says so.
3. Credits and prices
Marking one picture uses one credit. Your first 3 pictures are free. Credits are sold in packs, at the prices shown in your account before you pay, in euros including all taxes. Your bank or the payment page may show the amount in your own currency; the conversion is done by Stripe, which adds its conversion fee to the price shown in that currency. Checking a picture is free.
Credits are added to your account as soon as the payment is confirmed. For payment methods that settle later (for example a bank debit), credits are added when the money arrives. Credits do not expire while your account exists.
4. Payment
Payment is taken in full when you order, on the secure page of our payment provider Stripe, by card or by one of the other methods offered there. We never see your card details.
5. Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days from your purchase to change your mind and get a refund for the credits you have not used: send a request through the contact form with the email of your account, and we refund them by the means you paid with, within 14 days of your request.
Each credit you use is a service carried out in full, at your request, before the end of that period. Before paying, you ask for your credits to be usable immediately and you acknowledge that a credit, once used, can no longer be withdrawn.
6. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password safe. You can delete your account at any time from the account section; deletion also removes your remaining credits, so ask for a refund of unused credits first if you are within the 14 days.
7. Liability
We do our best to keep the service available and the marks readable, but we cannot guarantee that a mark survives every edit made to a picture, or that a leaked copy will be found. You remain responsible for the pictures you upload and for your right to use them.
8. Legal guarantee of conformity
As a consumer, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services under the French Consumer Code.
9. Complaints and mediation
Write to us first through the contact form; we answer within 30 days. If we cannot settle the matter, you can refer it free of charge to a consumer mediator. We will name our mediator on this page before credits go on sale.
10. Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. This does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
